Tilda Swinton plays Leslie Caldwell, a highly competent homicide detective. She’s intense, focused, and intelligent. Her only family is her quiet and withdrawn nephew, Jackson, played by Jaden Smith, who lives with her. She is stumped when her section chief, played by Clark Gregg, gives her a Jane Doe case. The body and face were too badly mutilated for a positive ID, but she is believed to be a missing student, played by Sophie Oda. Meanwhile, Jackson is befriended by a mysterious girl (also played by Sophie Oda) who asks him to help her solve the murder.
