new surgical series! facial reanimation procedure following paralysis of the entire right side of the face. by grafting a piece of fascia lata (taken from the thigh), the patient’s corner of the mouth will be held tautly and won’t droop. the graft relaxes a bit over time so they won’t have a perpetual half smile.

omg I’m not imagining a herd with vaccine horns surrounding sick, old and baby cows, while another group has some hapless solo cows being snuck up on by a pride of viruses :3

:DDD i was actually thinking of something that too!!

omg virion lions. virlions.

hey guys! i’m brainstorming a project that would be a comic book about vaccines. i havent figured out if i want to make this a personal project or turn it into my master’s thesis. we’ll see about that.

it would explain how immunity works, how vaccines are made, what herd immunity is, and have a history of vaccines, and a rebuttal of anti-vaxxer arguments.

what i’d like to ask you all is what you might want to learn about vaccines?is there anything about vaccines, disease, and immunity that you don’t fully understand? what do you think would be important to include? do you have any favorite non-fiction or educational comics?

cabinboy100 said: The last time I touched 3D modeling software was Specular Infini-D (the only somewhat affordable Mac option way back when). Gone from the market for years now, alas. I'd like to try to get back into 3D (eventually) and I'm curious about how you're liking and learning C4D (on a Mac?). Are you taking a course? Doing online tutorials? Recommend any books/sites? Used other software? General advice? Thx! Dig your tumbling—Keep on keepin on~

i’m learning C4D in my graduate program! our professors have been leading tutorials and demos for the past few months. youtube though has some tutorials for specific tools and if you have lynda, that might have some, too! i have never done anything in 3D before so i’ve had a bit of a steep learning curve. everything i’ve made so far i’ve had to start over about four times before i felt like i got it right. now that i’m more comfortable with the program i’m starting to like it more, but i’m still a beginner and it’s been a lot of “i know what i want to do but i don’t know how to do it.” still having issues with getting materials to cooperate. i guess my advice right now is to keep a null folder for iterations of your project as you work in case you can’t undo, keep your mesh clean, and melt tool is friend.

i haven’t even started actually animating anything yet. that’s going to be interesting.

i’ve heard good things about zbrush? but i dont know anything about using it.
